About One DNP

I earned my "terminal practice" degree in nursing from the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in a journey of excitement and challenge. It inspired me to advocate for an all encompassing clinical credential rather than continuing the hodgepodge of nonsensical initials. I hope these entries will provide entertainment and insight into the Doctor of Nursing Practice experience, which will soon be the entry standard for all advanced practice nurses.

Oh, My Aching Brain!!!

More specifically, my aching dorsolateral prefrontal cortex which is causing overload of my hippocampus, dysregulation of my hypothalamus, and leaving my nucleus accumbenes wondering where it's treat is for getting an A+ on the neurobiology exam.

I love studying the brain. Way more interesting than the heart with its 4 little chambers and one puny little electrical impulse. Cardiac is for lightweights - the brain is hardcore! I can't wait to eventually tackle the Neuroscience Education Institute master psychopharmacology program and still feel like we don't really know squat about what makes us all really tick!

As for the rest of the program - I aced my second epidemiology quiz in a row (one more quiz and a final, then it is gloriously over), biostats weekly question is still in review mode, I have one DB and a live recording left for interview and counseling, a whole bunch of DB posts, quizzes, and a paper for philosophy of science. Maybe the first semester really won't kill me!
